Mc Kenzie`s Grille in Saranac Lake

Maureen Mckeough, I remember this day from your false 45 minute accusation and your orders. You sat and waited for your friends to arrive for 20-30 minutes. The restaurant was completely full but even so your food still came out during the time period it was supposed to. The only reason the “chef” came out to talk to you was because you were saying racist loud comments about the owners of this establishment. So much so you made other costumers uncomfortable that one even came up and complained mind you the little girl who was working cleaning tables that day overheard you. You offended her race and culture numerous times with the hateful things you were saying. You should be ashamed of yourself for making that little girl cry and being so loud and cruel. Next time you review a place be honest and next time you loudly make fun of someone else’s culture/race be aware of who you’re hurting in the process. I wasn’t your server that day luckily but that was my little sister you had crying.

Basic diner food. Reasonable price. 10% discount if you are staying at the adjacent Best Western.

We were 3 along with our dog. Asked if we could eat breakfast outside at the picnic table with our pooch. No problem take out would be provided. Breakfast was excellent and staff super friendly! Merci!!

Very slow service giving our wait staff the benefit of the doubt being understaffed! Took about 20 minutes to get 2 waters and about 45 minutes for food with a few empty tables around. Food was pretty good but pricey for quantity/quality.

Good for breakfast. Most of the old staff is gone due to new ownership. Still good but used to be better. It could be a really great place. Us3d to have lines out the door on weekends.....not so much this visit.

It was excellent! The food was great and so was the service. We found our new place to eat when we come from Copenhagen, ny.

A bit over priced for the quality and quantity

went for lunch with 2 others. took 45 min for 2 salads and a wrap!!! was told the grilled chicken had to be cooked really?! you should've had that prepared already or told me when I ordered. then the "chef" came out to dispute the time it took. won't go back...

Our first visit to this establishment. The food was fine. Our waitress Olivia with the blonde hair was sweet and attentive. The overweight hostess with the long brown hair was beyond rude and should not be working anywhere with customers. She couldn't even greet us or seat us until she was finished texting. She never once smiled and continued to roll her eyes at every little thing during our whole meal. Even another older waitress with short green hair looked miserable the entire time rolling her eyes at customers. Maybe they should consider male waiters or a staff with better personalities for this job? These ladies created a very uncomfortable environment. We will not be back.

Mc Kenzie's was ok. We stayed at the best western next door so it was convenient. But the eggs Benedict I got our first visit wasn't that great. In fact the hollandaise was way too lemony. I got the crunchy French toast with frosted flakes the second visit and it was far from crunchy, very soggy to be honest. My fiancee got the chocolate chip pancakes which were huge and not bad at all. The coffee was good, the prices were not bad and the service was good.

We went there twice as we were staying locally. The first time, the service was slow, but our watress was very nice and attentive. Our second visit I watched bus boy carry coffee cups by having his fingers in the cups, dropped silverware on the floor and picked it up and put it with the other new set ups, put the cup and glass holder on the floor while he refilled the serving shelf, bacon overlapped the plate (which was too small) and was touching the table when served.

McKenzie's is a great place to eat. The help are the best and the food is hot and tasty.

The food was delicious, the prices were very reasonable and the staff was very polite.

Great pancakes. Service was fantastic. Very pleasant and cozy.

Nice homey type of diner, friendly staff and adequate dishes, courteous and efficient. Always stop on my way through Saranac Lake.

Maybe I have to high of standards of what you should serve paying customers. (Not sure how they scuffed it up on the pancake?)

This is an amazing place. We went there because it was the only Restaurant in the area that offered a free breakfast on veteran's day to all veterans. The service was perfect and I appreciated that they said I could order anything on the menu because they really appreciated veterans. Even if I had to pay the prices were great and the good was cooled exactly how we wanted it. I will be back here when we come back to visit. Thank you for appreciating our military Vets!

Breakfast better than lunch. Fast service. Nice atmosphere. Nice place for breakfast with family.

Had breakfast while staying in Saranac Lake for the Winter Carnival. Enjoyed breakfast very much - the menu has some unique (to me at least) items like oreo waffles and corn flake encrusted french toast. Both were excellent! Bacon nice and crisp. Coffee cup never empty. If I was in Saranac Lake more often I would eat at McKenzie's Grille more often!

We were in town camping, and it was raining all night. We needed a place to get warm and get a good breakfast because we weren't cooking outside. This little grille was perfect! The staff was friendly and we were able to get seated right away. The food was great and it was reasonably priced! Would recommend to people staying in town and would go back.

Waited 45 minutes for bad food. Was laughed at by rude manager/hostess for bringing up the fact that the hot water in the bathroom was dangerously hot. Feel bad for our polite waitress.

Good was just ok

Service was quick and friendly. Breakfast was made quickly and tasted delicious. Staff was very friendly and seemed to enjoy working there.

Very expensive cold food that's supposed to be hot. Charge $4 for EACH waffle topping; a teaspoon of whipped cream, a few strawberries. So one rather small waffle costs > 11 bucks!! With NO sides or any drink. Left hungry. Waited a LONG time for the stone cold waffle, and it wasn't busy.Hoped to be somewhat regular, but won't be back. Improve chef, and lower prices, then might consider coming back...

We loved the rustic atmosphere when we entered and the staff was polite. There was no wait and it wasn't particularly busy, there were several empty tables. It was roughly 9:50 am on a Saturday in January. After we ordered our food, we waited until after 11 am to be served, ( an hour is a bit much for a slow day and breakfast food).The food we received wasn't the 4.5 star quality rating we expected. The eggs were beaters, the meats used for gravy were cold cuts...etc. Needless to say we were disappointed in the food and the time it took for our food to arrive especially when we had our kids with us.

We had breakfast here. The pricing was right and the food good. I ordered Belgian Waffles with Combo #3. The combo came with apple, walnuts, and raisins. I asked for no raisins. The apples and walnuts that came out tasted unfortunately of rancid butter and had to go back. The bad part was the cook stated it was fine but the waitress tasted the mixture as well, and had to make the cook understand that there was indeed something off in the mixture. They did remove the item from my bill which was nice. I would go back and give this place a second try.

Delicious food prepared by an accomplished chef. The atmosphere is relaxed and service quick. There is a specialty omelette that defies description! I drive 25 miles for this omelette. But I found the Turkey & Biscuits bland and flavorless. Tables often not cleaned after customer.

Everyone at our table was very satisfied. The service was friendly and sociable. The prices are good for what you get.

They close at 2 pm, so they're not open for supper, but their breakfasts are great. The omelettes are good, the service is good, the coffee is ok.

Food is always good and worth the drive from Tupper Lake. I especially like the "MacKenzie's Omelet", but all the menu items are good. The lunch soup specials are fabulous!

Breafast was very good though being in adirondacks they should use local maple syrup instead of store bought service was excellent

Hidden gem of the area. I highly recommend the frosted flake french toast and don't be afraid to skimp for their famous (in my group) fried potatoes! Air conditioned, which is great for the summer months, and the prices are unbeatable for the area!

Never a time I have ever been disappointed with this place. The food is always hot and fresh, they are always nice about switching the hollandaise sauce on dishes. Cups are always filled with water and the staff is just extremely friendly. We always bring friends and family here if theyve never been in town.
